ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - The trails of Margalla Hills in Islamabad have been closed due to an impending new spell of monsoon rains.

A notification issued by the District Magistrate of Islamabad stated that, as a precautionary measure, various trails in Margalla Hills are being temporarily shut down due to the new monsoon spell and forecasts of heavy rainfall.

According to the notification, the Pakistan Meteorological Department has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall over the next 72 hours.

Based on recommendations from the Capital Development Authority (CDA) and other institutions, Trail 2, Trail 3, Trail 4, Trail 5, and the trail behind Saidpur Village have been closed to the public.

Authorities have indicated that this restriction will remain in place until August 19, 2025. The decision aims to ensure the safety of citizens, particularly hikers and visitors, by protecting them from potential hazards caused by the severe weather conditions.
