Flag-hoisting ceremony also held in celebration of 78th Independence Day at LHC
ISLAMABAD, LAHORE (Dunya News) – On the occasion of Pakistan's 78th Independence Day, flag-hoisting ceremonies were held at the Supreme Court and all High Courts across the country.
At the Supreme Court of Pakistan, a flag-hoisting ceremony took place where the Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Yahya Afridi, was the chief guest and hoisted the national flag. Other Supreme Court judges also participated in the ceremony.
At the Islamabad High Court, Chief Justice Sarfraz Dogar hoisted the flag, joined by Justice Muhammad Asif and Justice Azam Khan. Office-bearers from the Islamabad High Court Bar and District Bar were also present. After the flag-hoisting, Chief Justice Sarfraz Dogar and other judges planted saplings.
Similarly, at the Lahore High Court, a flag-hoisting ceremony was held in celebration of the 78th Independence Day. Chief Justice of Lahore High Court, Justice Aalia Neelum, hoisted the national flag atop the court’s historic building.
Justice Abid Aziz Sheikh, Justice Syed Shahbaz Ali Rizvi, and Justice Ali Zia Bajwa were also present along with other honorable judges of the Lahore High Court.
While addressing the ceremony, Chief Justice Aalia Neelum said that it is a matter of great joy that we are celebrating our 78th Independence Day. She emphasized the importance of working according to the vision of Quaid-e-Azam, stating that if institutions follow that vision, the country will move forward on the path of development.
She further stated that every possible step is being taken to ensure justice in Punjab. Orders have been issued to establish model courts across the province, and dealing with pending cases remains a major challenge. She added that special benches are also being formed at the district judiciary level as well as in the Lahore High Court.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, a prayer was offered for the country’s peace and prosperity. A large number of LHC officers, staff, and their families participated in the event.
In Sindh High Court, a similar flag-hoisting ceremony was held. Chief Justice Junaid Ghaffar hoisted the flag in the presence of other honorable judges. President of the Sindh High Court Bar, Barrister Sarfraz Methlo, General Secretary Mirza Sarfraz, and others also attended.
During his address, Chief Justice Junaid Ghaffar said that today we have gathered to celebrate Pakistan’s 78th Independence Day and to pay tribute to the founder of Pakistan. He added that we must remember today the need to unite against prejudice and hatred.
