ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has announced by-election schedule for two National Assembly, one Punjab Assembly seats, Dunya News reported on Tuesday.
According to the ECP spokesperson, by-elections will be held on September 18, 2025 in the constituencies NA-66 Wazirabad and NA-129 Lahore of the National Assembly, and PP-87 Mianwali of the Punjab Assembly.
The spokesperson informed that the NA-66 Wazirabad seat fell vacant due to the disqualification of Ahmad Chattha, while the PP-87 Mianwali seat was vacated following the disqualification of Punjab Assembly opposition leader Ahmad Khan Bhachar. The NA-129 Lahore seat became vacant after the death of MNA Mian Azhar.
As per the schedule announced by the ECP, candidates can submit their nomination papers until August 6. A provisional list of candidates will be issued on August 7, and election symbols will be allotted to the candidates on August 26.
Meanwhile, the Election Commission has issued instructions that candidates must submit their nomination papers according to the specified dates to ensure the electoral process is completed on time and in a transparent manner.
