WASHINGTON (Dunya News) - US State Department spokesperson Tammy Bruce while briefing the media in Washington on Thursday said that the United States involvement and assistance made a difference in achieving and maintaining the ceasefire between Pakistan and India.
Tammy Bruce said that Pakistan and India were very close to a full-scale war and US played a role in securing ceasefire between Pakistan and India which is still holding. "The good news is that, unlike other regions, a commitment to a ceasefire has been made," she added.
She said that the ceasefire is an opportunity to address the unresolved issues between Pakistan and India, emphasizing the importance of finding a long-term solution.
The the briefing, an India journalist started creatng ruckus and she admonished him.
The spokesperson said that due to longstanding issues between Pakistan and India, terrorism gripped the region.
She said the US condemned the killing of Israeli diplomatic staff in Washington.
Regarding Gaza situation, she said "We want humanitarian aid to reach the victims ."
Talking about Iran, she expressed the hope that the deal would reach on Tehran's nuclear programme.
