RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) – The mother of Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Gen Asim Munir was laid to rest in a local graveyard in Rawalpindi.
COAS General Asim Munir led the funeral prayer for his mother, with President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, former army chiefs Gen (retired) Ashfaq Parvez Kayani and Gen (retired) Qamar Javed Bajwa, former DG ISI Lt Gen (R) Nadeem Anjum, former DG ISPR Lt Gen (retired) Asif Ghafoor, along with other senior military and civil officials in attendance.
During the funeral, national leaders expressed their condolences to General Asim Munir and prayed for his mother's elevated ranks in the hereafter.
A large number of senior political and military figures, as well as the general public, also participated in the funeral.
The Dunya Media Group has expressed condolence over the death of mother of Army Chief Gen Asim Munir and prayed that may Allah Almighty rest her soul in eternal peace and grant courage and fortitude to the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss.
With the news circulating on media, condolences started pouring in on the sad demise of the mother of Gen Asim Munir.
People shared condolence messages and commented that Ramazan is a month of blessing and may Allah Almighty shower limitless blessing on the departed soul.

President Asif Ali Zardari condoled the death of the mother of Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Asim Munir. In his condolence message, the president said it was sad to hear about the news of the death of army chief's mother.
"I pray that may Allah Almighty bless the departed soul with eternal peace and grant courage and perseverance to the bereaved family to bear this phenomenal loss," the president said.
PRIME MINISTER SHEHBAZ SHARIF
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has expressed grief over the death of army chief's mother. The prime minister said he shared the sorrow of the bereaved family, praying for the deceased.
SENATE CHAIRMAN
Senate Chairman Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani also expressed grief over the death of the army chief's mother. He said it was sad to hear about the death of Gen Asim Munir's mother. May Allah give patience to the army chief and his family. We are with the army chief in this hour of sorrow, the Senate chairman said.

National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq has expressed deep sorrow and regret over the death of army chief's mother and expressed his sympathy and condolences to the family of the departed soul.
He said he was deeply saddened to hear the news. “I am deeply saddened with the news of the death of army chief’s mother and share grief of the army chief and his family in this hour of sorrow,” the NA speaker said.
JUI-F CHIEF FAZLUR REHMAN
JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman expressed heartfelt sorrow, saying his heart goes out to the bereaved family.
He prayed that Allah Almighty may rest the departed soul in eternal peace and grant courage to the bereaved family to bear this huge loss.
