ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - The key leaders of Tehreek Tahafuz Ayen-i-Pakistan (TTAP) demanded to convene the All Parties Conference (APC) amid recent increase in terror incidents in the country.

The demand was made in a press conference by Mahmood Khan Achakzai, Barrister Gohar and Sahibzada Hamid Raza held in Islamabad on Friday.

“Only the APC can resolve the prevailing crises in the country. There is a need to implement the constitution in letter and spirit,” said the opposition leaders.

The bigwigs of the opposition also demanded unbiased election commission to hold a transparent election in the country.

They said that the Jaffar Express incident has left deep wounds on Pakistan.

The leaders of opposition also praised the timely action of security forces, noting that their quick response had prevented another Army Public School (APS) tragedy.

Meanwhile, PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar condemned terrorism and called for a united stance against it.

He said that a National Peace Conference should also be convened to discuss the recent incidents of terrorism.

Earlier, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had also announced convening All Parties Conference (APC) to discuss the law and order situation amid rising incidents of terrorism in the country.

He expressed these views while chairing a high-level meeting in Quetta on Thursday.

“We’ll invite the entire political leadership and armed forces of the country to develop a consensus,” said the prime minister.
