KP Assembly approves bill to increase ministers' allowances

PESHAWAR (Dunya News) – The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly has unanimously passed an amendment bill increasing allowences for the provincial ministers.
According the amendment, ministers without official residence will receive a monthly housing allowance of Rs200,000. The ministers who own homes in Peshawar will also be eligible for this benift.
The bill further allocates a one time sum of Rs1 million for the renovation of residences, allowing minister to purchase items like carpets, curtains, air conditioners, and refrigerators.
Upon leaving the residence all the items must be returned to the administrative department.
In addition, the assembly approved the Land Building Revenue Control Amendment Bill 2024, presented by Law Minister Aftab Alam.
