ECP’s legal team recommended implementing the Election Act
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The legal team of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has proposed reinstating suspended members to their reserved seats.
In an important consultative meeting chaired by Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja, the ECP reviewed the National Assembly Speaker’s letter regarding the reserved seats.
According to sources, the ECP's legal team recommended implementing the Election Act. The team stressed that adherence to laws passed by Parliament is mandatory for all institutions and that amendments to the Election Act render the Supreme Court's decision ineffective.
