Full court reference for outgoing CJP set for Oct 25
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - The Supreme Court’s registrar issued a notice of full court reference over the matter of retirement of Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa.
According to the notice, the full court reference would take place on October 25.
Senior lawyers including Supreme Court Bar Association president have been invited.
It merits mention that the Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa is retiring on October 25.
Earlier, in an informal conversation with journalists at the start of the new judicial year, the outgoing chief justice was asked about a statement by Rana Sanaullah suggesting that if the retirement age for all judges were extended, the chief justice might agree to an extension himself.
The CJ responded that Rana Sanaullah should be brought before him.
During that meeting, it was discussed that the tenure of all chief justices would be extended, but he made it clear that he would not accept an extension for himself, although he had no objection if it applied to other judges.
