MIANWALI (Dunya News) – Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) police on Sunday night claimed to have eliminated seven terrorists near Makarwal, Dunya News reported.

According to CTD sources, an intelligence-based operation (IBO) was conducted in the area.

In an exchange of fire between the militants and the CTD personnel, seven Khawarij terrorists were sent to hell whereas their eight accomplices escaped under the cover darkness, the sources said.

Six hand-grenades, seven Kalashnikovs, bullets and explosives were seized from the possession of the outlaws.

A search operation was launched to arrest the fleeing militants. Dead bodies were shifted to hospital for autopsy.

The terrorists had a plan to carry out massive destruction in Punjab. The process for their identification was initiated. Security was stepped up in Mianwali and its suburbs after the encounter.
