PM Shehbaz takes notice of wheat scam in Passco

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif took notice of the alleged wheat scam in Passco and ordered an inquiry.
The Prime Minister ordered action on criminal negligence against former MD Captain (retd) Saeed and other concerned officers.
He directed the FIA DG to complete the corruption inquiries in Passco within a week and duly present the report to his office.
According to the documents, misleading information was provided to the Prime Minister's Inspection Commission in the initial inquiry. It is reported that the bureaucracy had not cooperated with the PM's Inspection Commission in the last two years.
The PM clarified that those who damaged the wheat reserves in the 2022 floods do not deserve any concession. He also sought the inquiry report on the theft of wheat during the 2022 floods.
The Prime Minister directed that the Ministry of Food Security should submit a comprehensive report on the outsourcing of all Passco-related issues.
It should be remembered that in the flood of 2022, 34 thousand tons of wheat disappeared from Pasco warehouses.
Meanwhile, the PM constituted a cabinet committee to solve the problems of overseas Pakistanis.
The committee will be chaired by the Prime Minister himself.
According to the Secretary Ministry of Overseas, the Cabinet Committee includes the Federal Ministers of Overseas Pakistanis, Education, Foreign Affairs, Interior, Health, Industries, Production and Trade.
Also, the National Coordinator of SIFC, State Bank governor, Executive Director Neotech and HEC Chairman will be part of the committee.
