Several feeders trip during downpour
LAHORE (Dunya News) – The Lahorites were blessed with much-needed rain on Saturday, but unfortunately the relief came with the downpour proved to be short-lived due to long and massive power shutdowns in parts of the City.
The rain gave the citizens respite from long heatwave and muggy weather, but at the same time it also exposed the Lesco’s frail power distribution system as its dozens of feeders stopped supplying power, causing great sufferings and ordeal for the citizens in brutal hot weather.
There were no gusty winds or thunderstorms, even then electricity vanished, a citizen said.
The most affected areas included Naulakha Bazaar, Misri Shah, Shadbagh, Tajpura, Gujjarpura, Davis Road, Iqbal Town, Harbanspura, Gulberg, Tajbag, Bhatti, Faisal Town, Town Ship, Sant Nagar and Johar Town.
The people of these areas faced shutdown from 5 to 6 hours amid hot and humid weather.
They have appealed to the authorities concerned to improve the power distribution system as feeders always trip when even there is a light rain in the City.
