(Web Desk) – The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has initiated the process for issuance of a new banknote series by launching an art competition.

The central bank in social media post said the local artists, designers and art students/designers were eligible to participate in the competition.

The artists are expected to come up with novel designs and ideas, it said, adding that the deadline for submitting their designs is March 11, 2024.

The participants can share design of all the seven existing denominations – Rs10, 20, 50, 100, 500, 1,000 and 5,000 or fewer denominations based on their choice. SBP also announced prizes for the winners.
