LAHORE (Web Desk) – As three-time prime minister Nawaz Sharif is all set to address his rally of the election campaign, PML-President Shehbaz Sharif said the PTI founding chairman was out of the election campaign because of the May 9 incidents.

Talking to a private TV channel, he said they were hoping to face the “bat” in February 8 elections, but the PTI couldn’t manage to be on the ballot because of the failure to submit proof before the Supreme Court.

Earlier, Maryam Nawaz – the PML-N chief organiser and senior vice president – on Monday said Every character involved in committing excesses against Nawaz and the people of Pakistan was facing ultimate justice, she said and referred to the resignations submitted by the two Supreme Court judges recently.

“They were acting like pharaohs, but are now running away like rats,” Maryam remarked and added that a person standing for truth like Nawaz never back down. Nawaz had left the office with grace, they are escaping while trying to hide their faces, she said.

RALLIES ARE COMING

On the other hand, the PML-N has announced the schedule for rallies as media and experts have been criticising the party not showing interest in and delaying the election campaign, with some saying that the leadership had lost support of voters.

According to details, Nawaz, who is eyeing a fourth term in office, will address his supporters in Layyah on Jan 20 followed by Mansehra on Jan 22 and Nankana on Jan 24.

On Jan 26, the PML-N supremo is scheduled to reach Vehari, Burewala and Pakpattan. His next stops on the road are: Daska on Jan 28, Bahawalnagar and Haroonabad on Jan 30, Swat on Feb 1, Sargodha and Sialkot on Feb 3, Murree on Feb 4 and Gujranwala on Feb 5.

As the tradition shows, his campaign will again culminate in Lahore on Feb 6 – the last day for electioneering before the Feb 8 polls – where he always addresses rallies in different parts of the city.

As far as Shehbaz is concerned, he will hold rallies in Lahore, Kasur, Ahmedpur East, Mandi Bahauddin, Rawalpindi, Rajanpur, Sialkot and Multan.

On the other hand, Maryam – the political scion of Nawaz – will visit Khanewal, Lahore, Peshawar, Havelian, Rawalpindi, Mandi Bahauddin, Narowal and Faisalabad.

SOMETHING IS MISSING

Amid the reports of Nawaz visiting Karachi in the coming days, there is no mention of him reaching out to his supporters in Karachi and other parts of Sindh.

Interestingly, the schedule doesn’t show the Sharifs holding rallies in both Sindh and Balochistan despite the PML-N provincial leaders saying on social media that the elder Sharif would soon visit the port city

However, their visit to Sindh and Balochistan may not have been announced due to the preparations being made at the provincial and local levels.
