LAHORE (Dunya News) – Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Wednesday highlighted the imperative need for unity under the PPP's banner, echoing the party's legacy and its unwavering dedication to the Bhutto family.

During his address at a workers convention on Wednesday, Bilawal committed to implementing the party’s 10-point manifesto which includes assurances of doubling salaries within five years, providing free electricity and ensuring access to quality education.

Bilawal went on to outline ambitious plans for the establishment of international-standard healthcare institutions, the construction of three million houses for the underprivileged, and the expansion of welfare programmes like the Benazir Income Support Programme.

He announced that if the PPP assumes power, initiatives such as the 'Benazir Mazdoor Card,' 'Benazir Kissan Card,' and the 'Youth Card' would be introduced, specifically designed to support workers, farmers and the youth.

In his address, Bilawal strongly condemned divisive politics, vowing to usher in a new era of collaboration while leaving behind personal vendettas. He urged the people to turn out on Feb 8 to cast their votes, asserting that the PPP would bring about positive change in the country.

Highlighting the party's commitment to participate in the upcoming elections, Bilawal introduced key candidates for various constituencies. Notably, Misbahur Rehman and Faisal Mir were named as candidates for PP-160 and PP-161, respectively.

Bilawal welcomed the addition of new PPP member Manzar Abbas Khokhar from the PML-N, emphasising his potential as the next MPA.

Bilawal instructed PPP supporters to continue their dedicated efforts for the party, underscoring the crucial role of their struggle in shaping the destiny of the nation.

Earlier, Bilawal arrived in Lahore from Islamabad to hold a meeting with the business community in Lahore and address the workers convention in Lahore’s constituency of NA-127.

The convention was being organised by PPP candidate Mian Misbahur Rehman from PPP-160.

According to sources in the PPP, Bilawal will leave Lahore on Thursday (tomorrow) to address a rally in Tandlianwala.
