PTA raids franchise issuing SIMs illegally in Sialkot
ISLAMABAD (APP) – The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) zonal office, Lahore, in collaboration with the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Cyber Crime Circle, conducted a successful raid on the franchise of a mobilephone company in Sialkot.
The franchise was found involved in the illegal issuance of SIMs (subscriber identity modules), according to a press release issued here Thursday.
As many as nine BVS devices and 33 SIMs were seized as evidence.
Two persons were apprehended on the premises by FIA.
Further investigation is under way.
The PTA had filed complaints with the FIA earlier based on information regarding the illegal issuance of SIMs by the franchise.
