Electricity consumers bear the brunt of distribution companies' negligence

Discos received Rs253.47 billion from masses on account of quarterly adjustments

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The electricity distribution companies (Discos) have recovered a whooping sum of over Rs253 billion on account of quarterly adjustments from inflation-stricken masses.

The massive burden was put on public by the companies to maintain their revenue generation instead of addressing the core issues, including electricity theft, line losses and poor recovery.

Documents available to Dunya News showed the companies received Rs257.47 billion from people during the four quarters.

They received Rs188.18 billion in wake of capacity charges and Rs16.81 billion on account of operations and maintenance cost.

Electricity consumer had to pay Rs15.60 billion on account of fuel cost adjustment during the said period.
