Cause of explosion yet to be ascertained
QUETTA (Dunya News) - Two people were injured after an explosion occurred in a decoration shop on Moti Ram Road in Quetta on Thursday.
Talking to media, SSP Operations Zohaib Mohsin said that an explosion occurred in a shop on Moti Ram Road, leaving two people injured. An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the blast, he added.
Mohsin said that fireworks and other such equipment were present in the shop. He said that the nature of the explosion would be determined after the bomb disposal squad examines the scene.
The SSP Operations said that roofs of the shops were also collapsed due to the explosion. "If there had been any explosive material, there would have been marks on the walls," he held.
Hand grenade attack
It is to be recalled that five people, including two policemen, suffered injuries in a hand grenade attack on them on Joint Road, Quetta on Wednesday.
Quetta Civil Hospital sources said an injured woman and two policemen were brought to the hospital and their condition is stable.
He said the injured were given medical treatment.
Sharing details of the incident, police told media that the injured policemen traded fire with some unidentified troublemakers who also lobbed a grenade at police. The miscreants fled the spot, police said.
