Three of a family die in roof collapse due to torrential rains

GUJRANWALA (Dunya News) – Three members of a family died as the roof of a house collapsed due to torrential rains amid the ongoing monsoon spell in Punjab province during the wee hours of Tuesday night.
A mother, her daughter and son died after being buried under the debris of collapsed roof due to the rampant torrential rains amid the ongoing monsoon spell in Salehpur area of Kamonke city in Gujranwala district. However, father, another brother of the deceased children were rescued from the wreckage in injured condition and were shifted to hospital for medical aid.
The deceased were identified as 50 yearsold Hanifa bibi, 20yearsold Adil and 18yearsold Laiba, all the three victims succumbed to their injuries before being rescued.
The latest monsoon spell at one hand is breaking the intensity of heat whereas it is wreaking havoc for others at the same time. The Meteorological Department said on Sunday that monsoon rains would begin across the country on July 3 and continue till 8th.Humid winds from the Arabian Sea were entering the upper regions of the country, it said.
