LAHORE (Dunya News) – A controversial audio leak of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders Sheikh Imtiaz and Sagheer Warraich purportedly discussing the vandalism of Lahore Corps Commander House has surfaced.
The audio clip of the PTI leaders suggests that the party had encouraged its supporters to gather at the Corps Commander House, leading to the ransacking and destruction of the property.
In the audio clip, Sheikh Imtiaz can be heard informing Sagheer Wariach that they [PTI workers and supporters] had gathered at the Corps Commander House, to which Sagheer Warriach questioned, “should we also head towards the corps commander’s house?” Sheikh Imtiaz responded with a ‘yes’.
The authenticity of the audio clip has not been confirmed, but it has added to the growing anger and frustration among the public.
It is pertinent to mention here that violent clashes broke out across Pakistan after former premier and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan was arrested by National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in the Al-Qadir Trust case on Tuesday.
The PTI chief was taken into custody by Rangers personnel from the premises of Islamabad High Court where the former premier had gone to seek bail in multiple cases registered against him.
