Sindh govt denies report of collapse of Shahrah-e-Bhutto due to rains
She added the naysayers would always find something to complain.
KARACHI (Dunya News) - Sindh government spokesperson Sadia Javed has strongly denied reports of Shahrah-e- Bhutto being submerged in water due to downpours.
In her statement, the spokesperson said she started her journey from Bhutto Highway, and everyone can see that the highway is fully functional with smooth traffic flow. She urged the public not to pay attention to rumours.
She stated that some under-construction sections of the highway have minor unevenness, which would be fixed soon. Minor issues after the construction of new highways is natural and they would be immediately repaired.
She added the naysayers would always find something to complain.
Criticizing MQM leaders, she remarked that they are lying to undermine each other. "While these people were comfortably sleeping after criticizing, the dedicated mayor, elected representatives, and administration were on the roads until 6 a.m.," she said. "For those who caused bloodshed in the past, even the rain will always seem bad."
Sadia Javed further said yesterday, the governor's absence was compensated by the Jamaat-e-Islami town chairman, who was busy pushing his vehicles to create media footage.
She assured that the Sindh government is providing all possible support and arrangements for the people affected by the Lyari and Malir rivers. She appealed to the public not to believe any rumors.
