(Web Desk) - Veteran Pakistani actress Nisho Begum has addressed ongoing rumours about her alleged fourth marriage, with her recent statement going viral on social media.
In a recent interview, the actor was asked whether she had secretly tied the knot for the fourth time. Responding to the speculation, Nisho Begum said that she is currently enjoying life and has been turning down marriage proposals.
She clarified that her children have no objection to her remarrying and added, “If a fourth marriage is written in my destiny, it will happen — because such matters are in the hands of God.”
She also emphasized that age should not be a barrier to marriage, stating, “If it is meant to be, I will definitely get married again.”
Speaking about societal attitudes, she said, “In countries like Saudi Arabia, if a woman is widowed or divorced, she is married off again without delay. There, even ten marriages are not considered unusual for a woman. But here, we’ve made the act of nikkah a taboo.”
She concluded, “When religion permits it, then if it's destined, I will go ahead and have a fourth marriage too.”
It is worth mentioning that Nisho Begum’s first marriage took place in 1970, which ended in divorce in 1976. She later married writer Taslim Fazli in 1978, who passed away in 1982. In 1986, she tied the knot with director Jamal Pasha, who died in 2019.
Rumors about her fourth marriage have been circulating on social media in recent days, prompting her response.
