During the conversation, he opened up about his late mother, who passed away in 2006.
A French native, she moved to Lahore for love, becoming the pillar of his extended family.
Reflecting on her legacy, Butt described her as extraordinary. She stayed through the 1965 and 1971 wars, contributed to the Pakistani government, and established a French school.
Despite cultural and language barriers, she embraced Pakistani life, even learning Punjabi to navigate the joint family dynamics.
“My mother was genuinely special,” Butt reminisced.
“She adapted to Pakistan remarkably and was a soft critic but very loving. Her loss was significant for us.”
