(Web Desk) – Pakistan entertainment industry's famous actor Sajid Hasan has joined the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP).

This move comes as political parties try harder to win over supporters from a wider range of backgrounds in order to fortify their positions ahead of the polls on Feb 8.

The majority of the members of the Jahangir Khan Tareen-led party are former deserters of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) who broke off with the party during the May 9 riots that broke out across the nation following the arrest of former prime minister.

Since the party's founding, a significant number of now-former PTI leaders including Farrukh Habib, Ali Nawaz Awan, Andleeb Abbas, Firdous Ashiq Awan, Fayyazul Hassan Chohan, and former Sindh governor Imran Ismail have joined Tareen's ranks.

Speaking about his intention to enter politics at the request of Sindh IPP President Mahmood Moulvi, Hasan stated that he wanted to make a difference for the Pakistani people.

The actor emphasised that his only goal in joining the IPP was to serve the people, and he urged people to see the bright side of politics and give credit to those who had benefited the nation.
