Mahajani acted in several Marathi films from the late 1970s to the mid-1980s
PUNE (Web Desk) - Marathi actor-director Ravindra Mahajani, a veteran of the industry was found dead in a locked flat at Xrbia Housing Society in Ambi area of the Talegaon Dabhade vicinity near Pune.
The neighbours contacted the police on Friday around 4.30 pm after they found a foul smell emanating from the apartment. Mahajani was a resident of Mumbai, but was staying alone in the accommodation for about eight months.
Police reported on Saturday that the body of the 77-year-old actor was found on Friday evening, and it is suspected that he passed away approximately three days prior to the body being found.
His mortal remains were sent to a hospital for post-mortem, police said.
Mahajani acted in several Marathi films from the late 1970s to the mid-1980s. He even acted in some of the recent films as well, including the Hindi period drama, Panipat (2019).
