LAKKI MARWAT (Dunya News) – A wanted criminal responsible for the killing of a police officer was killed in an alleged police encounter in Lakki Marwat, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, authorities said on Tuesday.

The incident occurred in the jurisdiction of Tejwari Police Station, where the outlaw, identified as Kifayatullah, son of Hayatullah, was reportedly killed at his hideout during a police operation.

Officials confirmed that the deceased was involved in the murder of SHO Jameel Khan and was wanted in dozens of serious criminal cases. He was also known as the brother of a local figure, Gul Nawaz, authorities added.

The operation was hailed as a success, with police officials saying it sent a strong message against criminals. DIG Bannu Region Sajad Khan commended the police for their prompt and effective action, stating that such encounters help maintain law and order.

Authorities said the operation was conducted with careful planning to ensure public safety while targeting the accused, who had long evaded capture.

The police reaffirmed their commitment to bringing fugitives to justice and safeguarding the community from criminal elements.
