A child rape suspect was killed in an alleged police encounter in Gujranwala while unidentified accomplices escaped; police have launched a search operation and investigations continue.
GUJRANWALA (Dunya News) - A man arrested on charges of raping his three-year-old daughter was killed in an alleged police encounter in the Khiyali police station area of Gujranwala, police said.
According to officials, the accused, identified as Ashfaq, was being taken to a flower garden area for recovery when unidentified motorcyclists opened fire near Nowshera Sansi Road in an attempt to free him.
During the exchange of fire, Ashfaq was killed, while his accomplices managed to flee. Police cordoned off the area and launched a search operation to arrest the suspects. Further investigation into the incident is underway.
