Two robbery suspects killed in Sheikhupura police 'encounter'

SHEIKHUPURA (Dunya News) - Two under custody robbery suspects were killed in an alleged police encounter in Hoikee area of Sheikhupura district on Saturday night.
Bhikhi police were taking the suspects Nadir and Kashif to some location for recovery, when their accomplices attacked police in a bid to get them freed from the custody. The unknown assailants opened indiscriminate fire on the police party, which resulted in the death of both the suspects.
The assailants fled the scene after the encounter, whereas the police have cordoned off the area and initiated a search operation to arrest the fleeing suspects.
The deceased suspects were arrested for their alleged involvement in more than 50 incidents of robberies, theft and other crimes. Both of them were residents of district Nankana Sahib and were notorious for killing robbery victims.
