Robbers kill Pakistani-Canadian in Karachi

The victim was out for some Eid shopping after visiting a bank
KARACHI (Web Desk) - Robbers shot dead a Pakistani-Canadian on facing resistance in the provincial capital on late Tuesday.
According to reports, the incident took place in Nazimabad area and victim Amin Alvi was out for some Eid shopping with four street children.
Police said Alvi, a Pakistani-Canadian citizen, went to a bank and also visited a currency exchange before going for a shopping.
An eyewitness child said that two armed men encountered them and asked the victim to give his cash and other valuable items. The child told police that Alvi agreed to hand over his cash and valuables but resisted when robbers tried to check his pockets.
It provoked the muggers who opened fire before fleeing from the scene. A rickshaw driver took him to a nearby hospital where he died during treatment.
Alvi was a retired official of a foreign airline and he used to visit Karachi twice a year. The funeral prayers would be offered after his family reached Karachi.
