Dua Mangi case: IG Sindh orders scrutiny of police after accused fled

SSP Court Police has been directed to keep online track of the location of police vans.

KARACHI (Dunya News) – On the orders of IG Sindh the process of scrutiny of court police has started on the matter of escape of main accused in Dua Mangi case in Karachi.

According to sources, due to the negligence of court police on matter of escape of the main accused Zohaib Qureshi in Karachi, the SSP Court Police has been directed to keep online track of the location of police vans.

It has been further instructed to be kept up to date by sharing pictures and time of the movement of police vehicles in the official Whatsapp group. The current police force consists of 600 personnel. While many officials have been transferred from other departments to court police on corruption charges.

A list of the corrupt police officials will be made and they will be removed from fieldwork. It has also been proposed to increase the strength of court police from 600 to 1200. The court police have been facing difficulty due to lack of personnel. However, 600 to 700 accused will be presented in the court everyday.

Zohaib Qureshi had been brought to court from jail in a police van and after the hearing the arrested officials provided a private car to the accused.
