Pakistan defeated Zimbabwe by eight wickets in Harare to qualify for the Super Six stage of the ICC Under-19 World Cup after a dominant all-round display.
HARARE (Dunya News) – Pakistan booked their place in the Super Six stage of the ICC Under-19 World Cup with a convincing eight-wicket victory over Zimbabwe in Harare on Thursday.
Chasing a modest target of 129, Pakistan reached the total in 26.2 overs, losing just two wickets. Sameer Minhas led the run chase with a composed unbeaten 74, anchoring the innings with maturity and control.

Ahmad Hussain provided solid support, remaining not out on 24, ensuring there were no late complications. Earlier, Usman Khan scored 26, while Ali Hasan Baloch added three runs before being dismissed.
The target was set after Pakistan won the toss and elected to field first in the 19th match of the tournament. The decision paid immediate dividends as Zimbabwe struggled to build momentum against a disciplined bowling attack. The hosts were bowled out for 128 in 35 overs, failing to recover from early pressure and regular wickets.
Nathaniel Hlabananga was the standout performer for Zimbabwe, scoring 59 runs in a determined innings that held the middle order together. Brandon Sinzire was the only other batter to reach double figures with 15. Kopakwashe Muradzi contributed six runs, Leroy Chiwaula five, and Simbarashe Modzingire managed one. Kian Blignaut and Dhruv Patel were dismissed without scoring, underlining Zimbabwe’s difficulties at the crease.
Pakistan’s bowlers shared the workload effectively. Ali Raza led the attack with three wickets, consistently troubling the batters with accuracy and movement. Mohammad Saim, Abdul Subhan and Momin Qamar claimed two wickets apiece, maintaining pressure throughout the innings. Ahmad Hussain also chipped in with a wicket, completing a well-rounded bowling performance.
With this result, Pakistan have now recorded two wins in the group stage, alongside one defeat.
