(Web Desk) – Pakistani fast bowler Mohammad Abbas has signed a two-year contract with Derbyshire for the County Championship.

Abbas, who has previously represented Leicestershire, Hampshire, and Nottinghamshire, will join the team for the 2026 and 2027 seasons.

Derbyshire’s head coach, Mickey Arthur, praised Abbas as one of the best red-ball fast bowlers, noting his ability to put pressure on opposition batters and take wickets.

Arthur further emphasized that Abbas is known for his maiden overs and excellent average, which make him a valuable asset to the team.

He also stated that Abbas’s experience would benefit the younger players at Derbyshire.
