Ali Tareen has stepped down as the owner of Multan Sultans, while sharing his love for the team and South Punjab.
MULTAN (Web Desk) – Ali Tareen has announced his decision to step down as the owner of the Multan Sultans, expressing deep gratitude to the team and its supporters.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Tareen told fans, "Being part of this team has been one of the greatest honours of my life. I love the fans, I love this team, and I am proud to have represented South Punjab, a cause my late uncle Alamgir Tareen especially valued."

Tareen highlighted the values he encouraged among players and staff: hard work, dedication, and representing the spirit of South Punjab. "Fans will forgive a loss, but never a lack of effort. That principle has guided everything we have done, on and off the field," he said.
Despite financial losses, Tareen said he never planned to quit earlier. "The Sultans have always meant more to me than mere numbers. I have always been willing to go as far as necessary to protect the team," he added.
He acknowledged his outspoken style and commitment to principles, saying, "I would rather lose this team while standing on my feet than run it from my knees."
