LAHORE (Dunya News) – Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi on Friday stopped naming of national squad for upcoming Twenty20 International World Cup being held in the United States and the West Indies next month.
According to sources, the PCB chief expressed displeasure at the selection committee.
Sources said the chief has "objection" to inclusion of two players in the 15-man squad. They, however, did not point out who the two players are.
But, later they changed their stance and said that the chairman did not object to any player but expressed his displeasure over the way the selection committee worked.
The committee did not hold regular meetings to pick the players. Moreover, minutes of the committee meetings were not shared with him, sources continued.
Now, the team will likely be named at 7 in the evening.
It may be recalled that Pakistan team was to be announced today as May 25 is the last for submitting the names to the International Cricket Council (ICC).
