'PCB is not an employment agency', avers Najam Sethi

LAHORE (Web Desk) – Najam Sethi, chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board s (PCB) Management Committee, has asked people to stop asking him for favours related to hiring or promoting individuals within the board.

He took to Twitter to express his request and asked "relatives, friends, acquaintances, and persons in authority" to refrain from making such requests. “I am flooded with “requests” from relatives, friends, acquaintances & persons in authority to hire or promote people in PCB. Please, Please, everyone, understand PCB is not an employment agency,” Mr Sethi said.

“I cannot, will not, follow bad past practices to erode its professional integrity,” he added.

Mr Sethi was recently appointed the management committee s chief by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. He has received numerous requests for employment and promotions, as well as requests for passes for the Pakistan Super League and player selections. He emphasised that the PCB was not an employment agency and stated that he would not compromise its professional integrity.

He also requested that people not approach him for player selection or employment for undeserving individuals. The PCB must maintain efficiency to compete with top professional organisations, he noted.
