ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The federal government has announced revised prices for petroleum products, introducing an increase in the rate of high-speed diesel while keeping petrol prices unchanged.

According to the official notification, the price of high-speed diesel has been raised by Rs11.30 per litre. Following the increase, the new price of high-speed diesel has been fixed at Rs268.38 per litre.

In contrast, the price of petrol has been maintained at Rs253.17 per litre, providing temporary relief to consumers amid fluctuating international oil prices and domestic economic pressures.

The notification confirming the revised petroleum prices has been formally issued, stating that the new rates will come into effect from February 1 and will remain applicable for the next 15 days.

Fuel prices in Pakistan are reviewed on a fortnightly basis, taking into account changes in global oil markets, exchange rate movements, and applicable taxes and levies. Petroleum products, particularly high-speed diesel, play a critical role in transport, agriculture, and industrial sectors, making price adjustments a closely watched development.
