ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Electricity prices are likely to drop on account of monthly fuel cost adjustment in a relief to consumers in Pakistan.

The Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA) has submitted a request to the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) for a 65 paisa per unit decrease in electricity prices.

The request pertains to October's fuel adjustment, which will apply to electricity consumers nationwide, including those in Karachi.

Currently, the monthly fuel adjustment for September is in effect across the country.

In September, the electricity prices were dropped by 48 paisa on account of fuel cost adjustment.

NEPRA is scheduled to hear the request on November 27.
