KARACHI (Dunya News) – The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) opened the first trading day of the business week on a positive note, with the benchmark index showing a notable gain.

The KSE-100 index opened at 162,801.48 points, marking an increase of 1,169.75 points, or 0.72 percent, compared to the previous close of 161,631.73 points.
Investors appeared optimistic at the start of the week, driving early gains across the market.

In previous session, the 100-index recorded bullish trend on Friday, gaining 4,898.86 points, a positive change of 3.13 percent, closing at 161,631.73 points against 156,732.87 points on the last working day.

A total of 952.860 million shares were traded on the ready market compared to 848.303 million shares a day earlier, while the traded value increased to Rs 42.268 billion from Rs 37.611 billion previously. The market capitalization rose to Rs 18,561.637 trillion compared to Rs 18,086.220 trillion the previous day.

Out of 486 companies that transacted shares in the stock market, 372 recorded gains, 77 sustained losses, and 37 remained unchanged.
