ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Federal Minister for Energy Awais Leghari said on Tuesday that a proposal for relief in electricity bills for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has been forwarded to the Prime Minister.

Speaking to the media in Swat, Leghari said the people of KP are of great importance to the federal government. “We stand shoulder to shoulder with them in this difficult time,” he added.

The minister stressed that there should be no difference between the roads of the province and those of the federation. He assured that power restoration work would be completed as quickly as possible, saying, “KP is very dear to us.”

Appealing to the nation, Leghari urged people across the country to come forward and support the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He also called on the provincial government to make sure relief and aid reach the people on time.

He said the proposal for bill relief was sent to the Prime Minister through Amir Muqam, while the federal government is already extending support through NDMA and other channels.

Leghari noted that the National Highway Authority (NHA) is working at a fast pace and emphasized that the federation and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa “stand as one — the province is an inseparable part of Pakistan.”
