Mills owners reject withholding tax
LAHORE (Dunya News) - Pakistan Flour Mills Association (PFMA) declared a nationwide strike from July 10, rejecting the withholding tax.
The PFMA central chairman Asim Raza, provincial chairmen, and the flour mill owners participated in the meeting.
During the press talk, Asim Raza said that if the withholding tax was not withdrawn, they would go on a nationwide strike from July 10. He clarified that they would not become FBR's withholding tax collection agents. He said that tax collection is the government's job, not theirs.

Raza further said that flour mills were already in the tax net. He said they were paying taxes. He said that the new FBR taxation will make flour expensive for the people.
He said that flour is the basic need of the people, and it should be exempted from tax.
