The provincial government unveils the budget with a total outlay of Rs5,446 billion
LAHORE (Dunya News) – The Punjab government on Thursday fixed the minimum wage at Rs37,000 for unskilled labourers across the province.
The proposal was laid forth by Punjab Finance Minister Mujtaba Shujaur Rehman while unveiling the budget for the fiscal year 2024-25.
The minister unveiled the budget with a total outlay of Rs5,446 billion with no new taxes in it. No new tax will be levied in the provincial budget for the fiscal year 2024-25 while the focus will be on recovery of taxes already levied to increase the resources.
The government will ensure the utilisation of natural resources and government assets in the province to increase the revenue generation.
A day earlier, the federal government also set the minimum wage at Rs37,000 for unskilled labourers in the country.
