Lesco officials conceal theft of 340 million units of electricity
LAHORE (Dunya News) – The Lesco faces the highest-ever line losses due to over-billing controls and officers’ mismanagement.
Sources say senior officials in Lesco keep blaming the junior officers for hiding their mismanagement.
According to the Lesco documents, the company lost billions of rupees due to the mismanagement.
The documents said when the company with 11 percent line losses stopped overbilling, the line losses touched 37 percent this month.
The documents stated out of billing of only 2.73 billion units, the Lesco faced the losses of 1.65 billion units, with an adjustment of 700 million units in April and May owing to overbilling of 610 million units were lost due to technical losses.
It was revealed by the documents the remaining 340 million units of electricity were stolen in two months.
Furthermore, the sources say the Lesco officials concealed the theft of 340 million units of electricity under the guise of ending overbilling.
In May last year, Lesco had 13.3 percent line losses, pushing up the line losses up by 23.4 percent.
