ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The federal government would present its budget for fiscal year 2024-25 on June 12 as it has been rescheduled due to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s visit to China.

State Minster for Finance Ali Pervez Malik confirmed the development, stating that the budget will be tabled in the National Assembly after the premier reach back from the neighbouring country.

Sources said the meeting of the National Economic Council would take place on June 10 while economy survey would be presented on June 11.

The state minister preparations are in full swing for the upcoming federal budget.

Earlier in the day, PM Shehbaz Sharif reached China's city of Shenzhen on a five-day (June 4-8) official visit. The premier visits China at the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Qiang.

This is the first official visit of PM Shehbaz to China since assuming office, which is significant vis-a-vis the second phase of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor and strengthening the Pakistan-China Strategic Economic Partnership.

The premier is accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb and other ministers.
