TSX opens lower as materials drag
(Reuters) - Canada's main stock index opened lower on Friday, dragged by material-linked stocks and after stronger-than-expected jobs data from the United States further quashed hopes of an early rate cut by the Federal Reserve.
At 9:31 a.m. ET (14:31 GMT), the Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX composite index (.GSPTSE), opens new tab was down 69.77 points, or 0.33%, at 21,049.44.
