The gas supply to power plants in all industries will be reinstated from 8 a.m. on June 17

KARACHI (Dunya News) – After the threat of Biparjoy Cyclone successfully warded off due to the natural deflection in its course, operations have resumed at Port Qasim’s both LNG terminals.

Reportedly, the LNG terminals at Port Qasim have started harbouring LNG carriers once again after the threats from Biparjoy cyclone were averted. The supply of RLNG (Regasified Liquefied Natural Gas) to Sui Northern and Southern Gas has commenced, and subsequently it was decided to restore gas supply to power plants across various industries.

Additionally, the gas supply to power plants in all industries will be reinstated from 8 a.m. on June 17. The restoration rumours were confirmed by SSGC (Sui Southern Gas Company). However, the decision regarding the restoration of supply to CNG stations is still pending.

The gas supply to industries, fertiliser factories, and CNG stations was suspended from the past three days,

The disruption in supply chain was caused due to adverse weather conditions caused by the cyclone. Previously, both floating RLNG vessels were relocated to the open sea as a precautionary measure.
