CPPA seeks Rs4.33 increase in the power tariff on account of fuel adjustment charges

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) will take up on Wednesday (tomorrow) a plea moved by the Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA) for Rs4.33 increase in the power tariff on account of fuel adjustment charges.

The Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA) had filed a petition at NEPRA, demanding an increase in the price of electricity under monthly fuel adjustment for 2021.

According to the CPPA, 33.21% of the total electricity was generated from water resources, 16.26% from coal, 0.29% from High Speed Diesel and 1.71% from furnace oil.

According to the CPPA, in November, electricity was generated at Rs 27.20 per unit from diesel and Rs 20.27 per unit from furnace oil.

Earlier, in the October, power tariff was hiked by Rs 4.74 per unit under fuel adjustment.
