Sergey Lavrov says Russia awaits the interim US draft on resolving the Ukraine conflict, noting active communication channels and readiness to assess formal American proposals.
MOSCOW (Shahid Ghuman) - Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said that Russia is awaiting the interim draft of a US proposal.
Speaking at a press conference, Lavrov said Moscow expects the United States to present an interim version of its plan regarding a resolution to the Ukraine conflict, a plan currently under consultation between Washington, European allies, and Ukraine.
Lavrov stated that formal communication channels between Russia and the United States are active, and dialogue is ongoing through these mechanisms.
He added that Russia is waiting for the version of the draft which the US considers an interim agreement as it works on the text with European countries and the Ukrainian side.
Lavrov further said that Russia is taking the negotiation process seriously and will assess the proposals as soon as they are formally received from the United States.
