The Indian Occupied Kashmir is among the 40 disputed areas of the world
SRINAGAR (Dunya News) – Kashmiris across the world would observe the black day tomorrow to remember the year when the Indian forces occupied the valley on October 27, 1947.
The Indian Occupied Kashmir, which is among the 40 disputed areas of the world, is a prime example of how occupation destroys social and economic conditions.
On the one hand, there are claims of Indian government that after the abrogation of Article 370, the situation of Kashmir has become normal with prosperity and stability showing their signs.
But, as many facts have pointed out, in the past five years, the situation has become more dangerous with the social and economic conditions also showing worst performance.
Small businesses, basic professions such as farming, tourism and industrial sector have taken a hit. Many traders have shifted their businesses to other areas of India.
Not only the abrogation of Article 370 in India in 2019 but also the spread of Covid-19 in 2020 made matters worse for the Kashmiris living in the occupied valley.
The kashmiris were not only affected by the Covid-19 but they were also a serious victim of government’s callous approach.
Tourism is one of the most important industries of Kashmir. It has been in serious trouble since the revoaction of the Article 370. With less tourists, the job opportunies have also shrunk.
