Couple wanted to film Instagram Reels during travel
(Web Desk) - A couple from West Bengal's North 24 Parganas district in India stunned people when they sold their eight-month-old baby to purchase the latest iPhone 14 in order to film Instagram Reels.
The couple, identified as Jaydev Ghosh and Sathi, already have a seven-year-old daughter.
It was reported that the couple aspired to own an expensive phone, and specifically chose the latest Apple model.
Police managed to rescue the infant from local resident Priyanka Ghosh who had purchased the baby. Ghosh also resides in the same district as the couple.
While the mother and the woman who bought the baby have been apprehended, the father is currently evading arrest. Police are actively searching for him.
During the interrogation, Sathi admitted to the crime, explaining that she and her husband sold their baby to acquire the phone, enabling them to film videos for Instagram during their travels across the state.
Authorities have revealed that the father also attempted to sell their daughter, but the plan did not materialise.
