Albino Porcupine grabs attention, rescued by Columbian Animal shelter

(News Desk) - A British Columbian animal shelter rescued an unusual “albino” porcupine from a residential area.

The Northern Lights Animal Sanctuary informed that the porcupine was found chewing through hydraulic hoses and electric cables in the Smithers residential property.

The animal shelter administration named it “Coconut” based on its brown appearance.

The sanctuary stated that it is an albino porcupine as its eyes and body lack pigmentation completely.

This is considered a very rare conditions in porcupines. The social media post about the porcupine also said that it will be at their sanctuary for a few months and will receive “room service”.

They also added they will keep Coconut for winters at least and might release him back to the jungle when summers arrive.
